Have you been told to raise the bar?<\/p>\n

Sure you have. Usually it is a boss asking us to do more (with less).<\/p>\n

Or, it is a coach pushing us to work harder, to do more reps at the gym, to run another lap at the track, etc.<\/p>\n

Or, it is the person in the mirror saying, “You can do better.”<\/p>\n

This is all fine. We do need to push. We should always be striving to get better at our craft.<\/p>\n

But, we can take this too far.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, what we really need to do is STOP raising the bar and instead, SIT AT the bar; take a break. Raise a glass to toast our accomplishments.<\/p>\n

As important as it is to push, it is even more important to recognize our accomplishments. Take a moment to look around you. See how far you have come. See the good.<\/p>\n

Invite your friends to join you in the toast.<\/p>\n
